Letter to the Editor

Obama office not handicapped-friendly

Editor, the Record:

Yesterday I was asked if I could stop by Obama headquarters during my trip from Eldred Township to town.

I was asked to pick up handouts for primary election day to add to our Democratic tent at our polling place. Each year we have poll sitters.

I was told there was no material available for Obama; it seems people will be going door to door to encourage voters. But if anything became available they would contact us. I told them Hillary would be represented and we certainly wanted to give equal attention.

I noted that headquarters at 777 Main St. are not handicapped accessible. Not only that, the first flight of stairs did not even have a basic handrail, which was not a pleasant experience. With all the money spent on campaigning you would think they could have put a little more thought into the venue.
